Our mindset plays a crucial role in determining whether we receive the blessings from the Lord or not. A negative or limiting mindset can prevent us from recognizing and receiving the blessings that God has in store for us. In this blog post, we will explore why we need to change our mindset to receive the blessings from the Lord and how to do so, using the story of 2 Kings 7 as a reference.
Elisha prophesied that in the morning the Lord would bless the people with plenty, however, one of the King’s men did not believe. He went on further to question the ability of God to provide for His people in a time of famine. Therefore, Elisha told him that he would see it with his eyes but he would not partake of it, and that was because of his unbelief. This man’s mindset was stuck in a famine environment where it made him hard to see God’s ability to provide.
On the other hand, we see in the story, there were four lepers who were facing famine and death during a siege just like everybody else. In their desperation, they decided to leave the city and seek help from the enemy camp. To their surprise, they found that the enemy had fled, leaving behind an abundance of food and supplies. The lepers were so amazed by the blessing that they had received that they returned to the city to tell others.
This story serves as a powerful reminder of how a change in mindset can lead to blessings from the Lord. The lepers were initially limited by their fear and desperation, but when they took a step of faith, they received a tremendous blessing. This is a reminder that when we trust in God and change our mindset from one of fear and despair to one of faith and hope, we open ourselves up to receiving the blessings that God has in store for us.
In order to change our mindset and receive the blessings from the Lord, we need to cultivate a heart of gratitude and trust. This means being thankful for what we have, even in the midst of difficult circumstances, and trusting that God will provide for us. We should also focus on positive thoughts and be proactive in seeking opportunities for growth and blessings.
It is also important to remember that the blessings from the Lord may not come in the form that we expect. In 2 Kings 7, the lepers received their blessing in an unexpected way, but they were open to receiving it nonetheless. We must be open to receiving blessings from God in unexpected ways and be willing to embrace them with gratitude and joy.
Changing our mindset is a critical step in receiving the blessings from the Lord. When we cultivate a heart of gratitude and trust, focus on positive thoughts, and remain open to receiving blessings in unexpected ways, we open ourselves up to the abundance that God has in store for us. By changing our mindset, we can receive the blessings that God has for us and fulfill our destiny.
