Take The Negative Positively

Genesis 37: 12-36

Many times bad things happen to us and we sometimes look at them as a punishment from God; because we don’t take the negative positively. We become so overwhelmed by these trials, and we consider them to be negative. Negative events prevents us from looking at the positive things in life. Sometimes God uses these situations as an opportunity to mold, teach, protect, and direct us.

When a door has been closed in your life, don’t take it negatively, on the other hand, look at it positively as one of God’s way to direct you towards reaching your full potential. Look at your situation positively as God’s way for saving you from unseen dangers or teaching you a lesson that you will need to pull on later to help someone. Furthermore, see you situation as God’s way of helping you to discover some abilities that you did not know you possess.

Lets look at Joseph who was sold into slavery by his brothers, anyone caught in that position, would have thought of it as a negative ordeal. Joseph’s brothers had to hate him that much in order for him to end up in Egypt to save many people; including his family; from an impending famine that would have destroyed them. In the end, what was meant to harm him turned out for his good. Similarly, Lazarus had to die so that Jesus may be glorified, and for people to witness the resurrecting power of God.

Maybe you had to be late for work that specific morning to avoid that motor vehicle accident. You had to be turned down for that job interview for God to give you a better job. Maybe you had to be rejected in a relationship for God to direct you to the right friend or partner. Maybe you had to lose out on a particular leisure time in order to draw closer to God. In every difficulty that you encounter, look for the positive in it.
