The Ultimate Sacrifice

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 53 : 3-5

Nails pierced to hands and feet, and multiple whip lashes were enough to cause blood shed. This blood shed was enough to save the entire world and many generations to come. The agony that Jesus suffered on the cross was a perfect demonstration of God’s love for his people. This was the sacrifice of all sacrifices that was done once and for all.

In the Old testament days, people had to make atonement for sins by the sacrificing of animals. This was only temporary, because if they had sinned again, they will have to do it all over. This was the trend for thousands of years, until Jesus came on earth to be the atonement for sin, he was the precious lamb of God.

The scripture clearly states that, almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins (Hebrew 9: 22). In order for man to be reconciled with God, Jesus had to die to bring about such reconciliation. Because of this ultimate sacrifice, thanks be to God, we can now become joint heirs with him if we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.
