Is your light shining?

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your works and give glory to your Father in heaven”.

Is your light shining? This is a question you should ask yourself. Light comes from various sources whether from man-made objects or naturally from the Sun, but their primary purpose is to illuminate the surroundings. Light helps you to function in dark places, with that in mind, the scripture reminds us that we are to enlighten our surroundings by shining our light. However, we cant be a light unless we are connected to a source of power, and that source is God.

A light bulb in the roof, or a beside lamp cannot shine unless it is connected to a power source, similarly, we need God to shine. Without God it is difficult for us to show love, to forgive, to give a helping hand, and even to be patient with others. Today, ask yourself “Is my light shining?”.
