Functioning With No Connection

John 15:5

Don’t be functioning and you are not connected to God. Let us look into ourselves to see where we stand. Sometimes we think that we are doing God’s will, but yet we are not connected to Him, because there is no relationship between us and God. You may be functioning in your capacity in the church but you have no relationship with God. Do not let this be your portion, as God intends to have a closely knitted relationship with you.

You may be singing on the choir, sharing the word, be the leader of various groups but still there is no connection. Search yourself to see where you stand with God, and make an effort to make things right with the Lord. Repent if you have to, don’t be proud to repent; its a sign of self-righteousness. Repentance puts you in a better standing with God, you need God as the source of your being.

It does not make any sense doing what you are doing as a Christian; thinking that you are pleasing God, but the truth is that you are not connected. Your relationship with God must come first before you decide to function in any area of ministry or whatever it may be. Search your hearts and try to make things right with God, He is willing to pardon and connect with you. Ensure that at the end of the day God is pleased with you.

There may be many things in your life that prevent you from connecting and having a true relationship with God. Decide to disconnect from the things that bring displeasure to God, and connect to the things that are pleasing to Him. In others words, if you want to have a close relationship with God, you have to disconnect to connect. It is difficult to bring God glory when you are disconnected. The enemy doesn’t want you to be connected to your main source of existence, he is intimidated by the fact of what will happen if you really connect with God. Don’t let evil win, pursue a God-connection.
